This guide is written in US terms, but at the 'here be dragons' site above in the menu, there is also the UK terms for the stitches used.  Also this is a test to see if this type videos work. I have one more in the making but I need to not have a fever to actually make it. (US TERMS) yarn is leftover scraps, the important bit is that it's thick, and you can like me use two threads. I use a 5.50 mm hook - and terms used are DC - double crochet. CH - chain. SLST - slipstitch. English version starts at - 00:16 this video is photos, mostly so it's easy to stop the video and study the image and read the explanation. This is not a tutorial per se, cause I do expect you to know the different methods such as double crochet, chain and slip stitch - if you do not know this - I have links from my crochet site to where you can find a tutorial on those stitches. https://hooksandshallowshadows.blogsp...  This still don't go according to plan, far from it. But I did get around to sorting out stuff on my blogs and make a huge purge. And also I dug deep in my savings and next week I'm going computer shopping, because this is getting ridicolous. But on the other hand, this girl is like 14 years old, and maybe it's just time for her to cross the rainbow bridge of old electronics.

When things don't go according to plan.

So I spent the last 3 hours trying to get my webcam to work. But apparently I can't, and I still don't know why. The microsoft app built into win10, just gives me a weird error message, and when you look that up, it tells you to update your windows - exept I can't, the only update available is to upgrade to win11.  And if I try using any other program, they all just say that the camera is used by another program.  fuck that. No videos.  No pictures.  Sorry man, I had hoped to make some cool sharing of my crochet knowledge, but the cosmos apparently doesn't agree. Right now I am so discouraged that I don't even know if I can be bothered writing up any of the patterns planned, if I can't present them as I wanted to.  Maybe I will update this blog, maybe I won't. I honestly don't know yet. Perhaps this was in general just a terrible fuckin idea.

So I have been thinking a lot about how this project should look, and what I really wanted with it, besides getting back to useful stuff that you can make quick and easy and that you might need. Stuff that saved my ass more than once.  But really crocheting grandma stitches all the time gets boring, don't get me wrong I actually love the grandma stitch, but there is a limit to all things good and bad. SO.... I decided that I will start with a pattern, and then show a super easy version, and a harder version. This is not a crochet school, and basic skills are needed, but I will link to relevant places if needed. Speaking of links, then often people will claim they came up with a pattern, which in my ears are ludicris - and I don't give two fucks about it. They came up with a version of something, their interpetation of something - and so am I. Most my patterns are stuff that other people did in a similar fashion, only difference is perhaps the size, the stitch or something e
